Hang on for maximum mayhem full-on fun and the wildest chase scenes ever put on film! The action and comedy never stop when superstars Martin Lawrence and Will Smith reunite as out-of-control trash-talking buddy cops. Bullets fly cars crash and laughs explode as they pursue a whacked-out drug lord from the streets of Miami to the barrios of Cuba. But the real fireworks result when Lawrence discovers that playboy Smith is secretly romancing his sexy sister Gabrielle Union (Bring it On). Director Michael Bay (Pearl Harbor Armageddon) and producer Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean Black Hawk Down) deliver a high-speed high-octane blockbuster that will blow you away! “…Year’s most action-packed and high-flying flick.” (Shawn Edwards FOX TV).System Requirements:Running Time: 146 Min.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: ACTION/ADVENTURE Rating: R UPC: 043396006195 Manufacturer No: 00619No one goes to a movie directed by Michael Bay for delicacy and grace; you go because Michael Bay (Armageddon, The Rock) knows how to make your bones rattle during a high-speed chase when a car flips over, spins through the air, and smacks another car with a visceral crunch. Bad Boys II fulfills this expectation and then some. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence may be mere puppets amid all this burning rubber and shrieking metal, but they actually provide a human core to the endless cascade of car wrecks and gunfights. Their easy rapport makes their personal problems–a running joke is Lawrence’s attempts at anger management–as engaging as the sheer visual hullabaloo of bullets and explosions. The plot is recycled nonsense about drug lords and dead bodies being used to smuggle drugs, but orchestration of violence is symphonic. If that’s your thing, then this is for you. –Bret Fetzer

Being such a fan of the first movie with its comic timing, excellent direction that Michael always brings (Though Pearl Harbor was crap) and a great score (yet is sounds suspiciously like Speed’s Hmmmmmm) anyway…i was surprised to find that I loved the second one even more…and the freeway chase scene rivals The Matrix Reloaded (Yes I said it!!) I think everything was better because Will Smith had more time to work on his comic/action skills between these films, and Michael definetly knows how to play to HIS audience as does Jerry Bruckhiemer. And the camera work in this film was turned up to 11! the 360 degree shooting scene going from room to room through bullet shots! GENIOUS! I definetly can see this film spawning at least one more sequel and is the Letha Weapon of our generation….with lots more blood and a more hardcore style of comedy.

… Well I finally got to see Bad Boys 2 a few weeks ago and I was very pleased. I can’t wait for the dvd to come out.The movie is ACTION packed to say the least. There is action, brief nudity, a lot of cursing, violent and digusting killings, and a lot of drugs. It is not a kid’s movie and I was disapointed to see how many people brought their kids with them to see this movie.Anyway, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence make a great team and yes their jokes were sometimes annoying and dry but not enough to be overshadowed by the really funny scenes. I liked the first Bad Boys film but I really feel that the sequel is much better. I would not be surprised to see a third installment. If you like action, good special effects and great stunt coordination, this film is for you. I can’t wait to watch it again!

Bad Boys II is just one of those films you know you’re going to have a great time watching. It’s hilarious, action-packed and simply stunning in some places (specifically car chases). Will Smith reprise his role as Mike Lowrey and Martin Lawrence reprises his role as Marcus. Gabrielle Union comes in as Marcus’
sister, Syd. The plot of this film is simple, Mike and Marcus are investigating some intensity within the drug trade, our villan who is transporting ecstasy secretly played by Jordi Molla. Suprisingly I must say this film was rather gory, some of which was gratuitous. The car chases were the real highlights of the film, especially the highway chase with truck and the falling cars, simply unbelievable. I thought this film was a bit predictable but I still enjoyed it. Though it is 2 and 1/2 hours long, it doesn’t feel to long since it contains incessant action/violence and comedy. Though this one is rather profane and obscene I began to not care about within the first 10 minutes. Now who’s funnier, Will or Martin? Well I’d say they’re equally hilarious. I liked this one better than the original “Bad Boys.” This is definetly worth seeing in theatres,
for you’ll have a great time and just laught pervasively. Bad Boys II is rated R for Strong Violence and Action (indeed very true), Pervasive Language (also very true), … and Drug Content. The [physical] content is somewhat moderate, mainly an explicit [physical] situation and some lewd [physical] innuendo. The drug content is fairly moderate as well. See Bad Boys II, a must own when it’s released on Video and DVD.

In my original review of this by-the-numbers sequel to the 1995 buddy cop action favorite, I was a bit critical of it and outlined my dissapointment as best I could at the time. I enjoyed the film but there were a number of things missing from it that I couldn’t put my finger on and its inability to meet the heavy expectations that I had set for it was just one of the problems. With its DVD release, I am able to go back and examine what exactly it is that keeps this from touching the original. I think my biggest problem with “Bad Boys II” was the fact that I was expecting it to be more of a “sequel to Bad Boys” instead of the “new Michael Bay movie”. If you’re looking for the latter, I guess you will be pleased. The movie is trademark Bay all the way. Lots of fancy camera techniques, stunts that push the envelope further than ever before, and all the general flashiness you would associate with his work. This film’s only real connection to the first film is having Lawrence and Smith return as the buddy cop team of Bernett and Lowry. Extended cameo appearances by Joe Pantolino and Theresa Randle don’t do much to help establish this film as a sequel. Aside from its Miami setting and a couple of familiar moments, this really never looks or feels like its predecessor. The addition of Gabrielle Union as Bernett’s undercover D.E.A. agent sister who is secretly dating charismatic ladies’ man Lowry is more than just a bit much. The biggest complaint that many critics had with “Bad Boys II” is that it is far too long. I would tend to agree. Clocking in at over two hours and thirty minutes, the movie is like two films within one. This wouldn’t be such a problem if the second half’s sequences didn’t more or less rehash stuff we had already seen in the first half. Not to mention that close to two hours of film is dedicated to the action with a little bit more than thirty minutes dedicated to the actual story. Well, story, might not be the right word, as the film’s non-violent moments could be summed up in about two or three sentences. The movie is filled with fun moments like an explosive KKK convention raid and a jaw-dropping car chase to end all car chases on the Miami Freeway but Bay gets greedy. Following the buddy pair as they install a wire in the drug czar’s house and tacking on an extra less-exciting car chase just for the added visual grossout gag of watching cars run over dead bodies really slows the film down and gives it a repetetive feeling. Once the duo finally track down the villian and it seems like we’re in the third act, we get thrown into another superbly ridicilous plot twist as he kidnaps Union and heads to his hideout in Cuba. Despite a warning by the government that an attempted rescue would be breaking all sorts of international treaties, half of the Miami police force still takes the rest of the week off to track the bad guys down for the big 45-minute conclusion. “Bad Boys II” is not an awful film though its presentation is questionable. The movie could certainly have cut about half of its preposed action sequences and thrown in a few more character moments. The decision to not include any of Mark Mancina’s classic musical numbers from the first film, most noteably the original theme, sort of takes a lot away from the familiar atmosphere. The best way to sum up this entertaining but dissapointing sequel would be to say that it is aimed more towards the Michael Bay audience then the “Bad Boys” crowd. This DVD has some pretty good features including detailed featurettes on all of the many steps into the making of this movie and a collection of deleted sequences. There is no director’s commentary though is there any person on this planet who would really wanna hear nasal-voiced Michael Bay go on and on for close to three hours? I didn’t think so. Also curiously absent is the music video for the soundtrack’s hit single, “Shake Ya Tail Feather”. I wasn’t a fan so to me, it’s not much of a loss. When all is said and done, if you liked the movie, you should be impressed with the DVD.

i got no idea what all the critics are thinking or why they even have a job. this movie got terrible reviews from the critics and why? too over the top? well for the first time in ages they made a tight action movie that was a hard R. most pg-13 movies are the same as R movies but without the blood. anyway this is a very entertaining action movie. a non stop thrill ride as all those washed-up critics put it. while definately not for the kids, if your in the mood for something that makes you all tense from the amazing action, then practiclly fallin out of your seat with laughter. i mean if you not grabbin yer seat, yer fallin out of it. great all around shooting scenes and the best, most intense car chases ever caught on film; plus hilarious jokes. you cant beat it. buy it if you like action films at all. also a must if you want to show off your home theatre setup. at least rent it if you like action, you wont regret it. it is rated R for- strong violence and action, pervasive language, and sexuality.
