A fast-paced, colorful, and exuberantly romantic-comedy that tells the intertwined tales of Louise, an attractive Brit looking for love, and her gay friends, including producer Harry who lives with his rascal young actor boyfriend Alex; Rugby player William who dates soap star Lawrence; and wealthy artist Tom who is trying to hold on to the model Lars. When Louise brings her latest catch Paul to dinner, this unwittingly sets off a chain of events that calls into question each couple s relationship, as well as challenging Paul s heterosexuality!

“Mr. Right”
A Fun Flick
Amos Lassen
Harry is a TV producer who hates his job and dreams about leaving it and seeing the world. Then he meets Alex, a struggling actor who is on the verge of fame. This is just one couple in this fun movie. It’s all about a girl finding a man who is not gay. Louise requests from her video dating service that the managers make sure that her next date is straight. The problem is that Louise is drawn to gay men–all of her friends are gay and we meet them all in the film. Aside from Harry, there is William, a rugby player, who is in love with Lars, a soap opera actor. The there is successful artist, Tom, and Tom, the boy he keeps who just happens to have a crush on Harry. Then there is Paul, Louise’s “straight” boyfriend.
This is ensemble drama about friends–how they try and fail to make love work with their boyfriends. It’s not about Louise but about how gays search for Mr. Right. Because the film is British, it embodies sophisticated humor and the characters are quite complicated, sometimes a bit too complicated. There are several storylines but once you understand who the characters are and where they are going, you will find a movie that looks like a fluffy comedy but is in reality a look at the way we live.
