I just bought an AR-15 and wanted to learn a little more about how to use it in a tactical environment, should I ever have to. I also wanted to learn some basics about how to shoot the rifle properly. This DVD set is very professionally done, and DOESN’T, though I thought it would, serve as a forum to plug Magpul accessories. The guns and accessories are not played up, rather the techniques and tactics are explained in detail and then demonstrated. This is very useful for someone who is foreign to carbine shooting and wants to make their target shooting or practice more fun and challenging.

Handgun, Tactical Carbine1 and Tactical Carbine2 are a great investment in shooting. I am writing one review for all three videos.
Although they do go over the safety rules, this is not gun safety 101.
Although they talk about the different methods, this is not a traditional 1940s 3 position shooting training.
Although they show how they do it, this is not a “my way or the highway” type training. They do show options.
They are teaching modern methods that are the bread and butter of law enforcement and military where the shooter is wearing body armor. They square up to the bad guy as much as possible.
Here is the down side,
The handgun training is 99% semi-auto. I would say that it is perfect for a Glock, a little less perfect for a 1911, and if you are a revolver guy, there is very little time spent specifically on the revolver.
The tactical carbine DVDs are 99% AR-15. If you are an AK person, or something more exotic like a AUG, this may not be the best course for you.
You really should buy all three or none. There is a little overlap between the carbine and the handgun, and there is a lot of knowledge in carbine 1 that you will need for carbine 2.
And even after seeing the downside, these are still the BEST gun training videos I have ever seen. They are above and beyond anything else out there.

This training video is excelent! If you own a carbine rifle this is a good investment. Shure you may have an AR or AK and you may know how to shoot it, but do you know how to USE it when the chips are down? This video will show you how to USE your carbine to its full potential.

The cost of these videos is cheap money compared to the many courses you would have to go to to pick up this level of detail. And courses can’t be rewound and watched again later! You can watch these videos (including II) as a beginner and slingshot yourself forward in your training. And experienced shooters will pick up ideas and hardware tips that will keep them busy for weeks on the range. Sure, some items are covered superficially, but the Art of the Tactical Carbine is a lifetime study, and these boys crammed one heck of a lot into these videos. Thanks guys!
