Skin Flick follows a skinhead gang on their daily quest for: sex, gang banging, granny theft, petty pilfering, and general mayhem. Dirk & Dieter have been lovers for three years, but aren’t gay. Wolfgang picks up men at the local cottage, Reinhold swings both ways, and Manfred just masturbates. Low on cash, they decide to ‘visit’ two bourgeois gay men (into workmen, toe-sucking and cottaging). Then it turns nasty . . .

Yes, this movie isn’t for everyone. Anyone who knows Bruce LaBruce, knows these are the kind of movies he makes. You don’t watch this particular film for its cinematography or stunning dialogue- frankly, you watch it for the porn. And if you have skinhead fetish, this will definitely satisfy it. It IS hardcore and rough, and I really did enjoy it (many times). It sounds like some of the people that reviewed this film were expecting something more “indie” or “low-budget” kind of movie. Well, it is indie and low-budget, but it’s a porn movie, NOT a regular movie (though I think it is masked as one from the descriptions).
This is LaBruce’s first hardcore porn aside from the other “softer” ones. There is one particular violence scene where the group of skinheads break into a salt-and-pepper couple’s home and torture them. That did make my jaw drop thinking “can they really show that?” But then you realize what you’re watching and not take it too seriously.
All in all, it was really campy, bad dialogue, bad acting, but fantastic looking men, and steamy scenes, with an actually decent soundtrack behind it. So, if you’re into skinhead sex, this is for you.

“Skin Flick”
Frightening and Amusing
Amos Lassen and Cinema Pride
Bruce LaBruce’s “Skin Flick” is a hard movie to caregorize. It mught be raunchy and pornographic on one hand but it has a theme on the other hand. The guys are hot even though they represent guys that most of us would not likely be turned on by. The things they do are disgusting but in some strange way they are quite sexy. The movie is shot like a typical porn movie with the same kind of disco music in the background of what looks like regular porn.
However, the movie is not porn but a satire on it. It also satirizes fantasy and fetish and is not meant to be taken seriously. If you know that in advance then “Skin Flick” can be considered quite a good movie. There is a problem here in that many people do not recognize satire and thereby miss the point and throw the movie away as futile entertainment. Fetish and fantasy are both strange and contradictory. Things that we find repellant in real life can many times become turn-ons in fantasy. Many turn away from violence in reality but look to it in fantasy, for example.
LaBruce, the director of the film, depicts skinheads as hypocrites and this is the way he chose to take them down. Hey are basically straight men whose physical presences, in their minds, represents machismo–a reflection of their own self images. Like many gay men they are very fashion conscious and spend a lot of time working out in order to build muscles. There must be some level of self-denial lying beneath this physica narcissism. LaBruce shows us that homophobia is not about the sex act but about appearing as less manly. There is one skinhead in the film who does not have sex with the others and is always willing to fight anyone. He, however, is not willing to have sex with his fellows and in the convoluted world of the skinhead culture he is looked upon with disdain by his mates. LaBruce throws in a couple of feminine guys to show what really scares the homophobes and they fool everyone by being extremely hard internally.
LaBruce also attacks racism. He does this also tongue in cheek. The porn films that the skinheads watch all have black actors. It appears that the skinheads in this movie are both attracted and repulsed by the same things.
The film is obviously low-budget but I feel it has a lot to say about so many things–especially the nature of prejudice. However, be prepared for some rather graphic sex and a great of male frontal nudity.

I honestly had no idea what I was getting when I got this movie, reccomended to me from someone else, I went on that and bought it, I was absolutely shocked when I started watching it.
Very graphic sexually, and the slurs are a little hard to hear constantly but some of the scenes are pretty darn hot and the music in it is actually pretty good..
If your into the more obscure cultish flicks, and like Bruce La Bruce and Steve Masters, then you’ll probably think this movie is ok.
thats all I can really say about this flick..
Worth owning? No…
Worth watching at least once? yes…

I rented this film, thinking it was a bad-ass kind of gang film.
Therefore, I was extremely surprised when all the gay sex started kickin’ in.
The sex scenes were awfully realistic and long; I would classify this film as a violent porn film.
For a straight person like me, it was an eye-opener–really intense stuff.
I felt like I took a peep into the world of gay sex.
The film was good, as an experience.

Wow this film is every bit as bad as I figured it would be. Horribly acted, horrrible “plot”, not researched, not even good in a campy way and I love B-movies! Waste of time and money. Seriously unless you are a fetish fag wannabe skin (WITH BAD TASTE IN MOVIES), don’t bother. I gave it one star for its use as a coaster.
