HEADSPACE is a documentary about a group of friends invovled in the BDSM lifestyle, produced and directed by one of their own. Studies show that up to 12% of Americans engage in some form of BDSM — and the rest are curious. Many of the images are shocking. Yet everything is joyous, consensual and freely given, even if through tears. Most people spend their lives avoiding pain and loss of control. The people in this film embrace it. In bondage, they are free. In pain, they are happy. In submission, they find power and joy. Are they crazy? Watch HEADSPACE and decide for yourself.

I have been in the BDSM lifestyle my entire adult life (20+ years) and really enjoyed this film. It touched on all aspects of the lifesytle, safety, the use of safewords, and stressed consensuality in all scenes, even those that appear extreme. It showed “basic” scene play such as flogging and moved into more extreme, or edgy, play such as cutting, etc. I also enjoyed the way it allowed you to view into the lives of the people in the documentary and was tickled to see some friends I actually know on the screen. It is going to be my Christmas gift to all of my kinky friends this year. A must see for anyone in the scene!
