All 22 Episodes of Season Three Hilarity
It is quite the scene at Sugarbaker & Associates in Season Three when Julia (Dixie Carter) runs for the office of Supervisor against a sexist pig, Suzanne (Delta Burke) brandishes a semiautomatic weapon to protect a pig of her own, Mary Jo (Annie Potts) decides that getting breast implants might be a good idea, Anthony (Meshach Taylor) gets nominated for Homecoming Queen and Charlene (Jean Smart) decides to drag them all down to Graceland for an Elvis nostalgia weekend. Alice Ghostley continues her recurring role as the befuddled and lovable Bernice Clifton, who in Season Three, among other things, leads the women in a wilderness survival course.
Created by Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, Designing Women aired on CBS from 1986 1993, running for seven seasons and becoming a premier landmark sitcom in television history.

If you do the math if the episodes are 480 minutes and there are 22 episodes that means each episode would be around 22 minutes which is too short for that season the last season each episode was around 24 minutes I could be wrong but who knows?

I love Designing Women. This is not a critique of the show itself. It’s a five-star class A show all the way.
I started watching Designing Women at the beginning of Season 3, which may be the reason I’m noticing “syndication” cuts that I had not noticed on the DVDs of seasons 1 and 2. The cuts are so obvious that scenes fade out awkwardly and music ends abruptly, similar to syndication edits. If I’m not mistaken, the opening theme was different in season 3 as well, different to that on the DVD, but I’m not 100% sure about that one.
The picture and sound quality are great, but it’s a real shame that Shout could do no better than the syndication edits of the episodes, especially since Designing Women is only available on DVD and is no longer in syndication. Hopefully this issue will be corrected for future season releases.

Season 3 of Designing Women has several great episodes. The Naked Truth- is where we meet Suzanne and Julia’s nieces, who are just carbon copies of the sisters.
Mr. Bailey- the decorators decorate a house of a woman who has recently died and left everything to Mr. Bailey, her cat.
Tyrone- this gives more insight to Anthony’s past, and how far Anthony has come with the help of the ladies.
One Sees, the Other Doesn’t- a personal favorite of mine. Suzanne has met a man who is blind- and learns that even though he can’t see her, he “sees” her.
Bill and Charlene get engaged, and married in this season- which makes for some great episodes- from the engagement and Charlene asking Julia for tips on how to be classy while Julia is at a frat party, to the wedding- where Bill and Charlene both get handcuffed to the exotic dancer.
I am glad this season is coming out- keep the seasons coming, Shout!
