I just got news about UFC 104 – Rua won, but judges gave it to Machida. Loud boos. Why? Evidently Machida has better contract with UFC. This casts a pall over UFC events. Your consumer strategy should be not to buy UFC events until they cleasn up their act. Including this DVD, which is just a recording of the shows on cable TV.

—WARNING SPOILER ALERT FOR EVERY FIGHT SHOWN ON PPV—
Finally the big day, PPV ready, Ive been waiting for this moment for awhile now. UFC 100 was supposed to be a history making event, this huge spectacular moment in time and yet dissapoints. First off they only showed 5 fights, are you serious!?!?! And to really make things worst all the main fights were back to back to back. Me personally, I like a fight inbetween each big fight, it gets me more amped up, more anticaption for that big moment.
They started it off with Alan Belchar V Akiyama who they hyped as this big superstar fighter from japan on a 12 fight win streak. The fight was cool, first round they banged it out back and forth and as the rounds went on they both started getting worn out, Akiyama more than Belchar. Akiyama wins by decision due to the fact that he took down Belchar at least once in every round but was gassed towards the middle of round 2 and all of round 3. But the wasy Joe Rogan talked about him made it seem he was some superbad a**, but really was like an avergae fighter.
Next was probably the greatest fight of the night, Dan Henderson V Micheal Bisping. Now if you all watched the Ultimate fighter: US vs UK you would of seen all the talking, well heard I should say, Ol Bisping was doing and well he had rights to since his team did dominate the whole US team but still he ran his mouth a little too much. Needless to say Hendo was ready to shut him up, first round they come out banging on each other and seems like an even exchange, but you could see Dan loading up with his right hand waiting for the oppurtune moment. Second round Hendo catches Bisping circling to his right and clocks him one good swing right on the chin, out cold with his head bouncing off the canvas, then the best part of it all, Dan does a flying over hand punch right dead center in Bispings face while he was knocked out cold. Guess he should learn to shut his mouth more. Obviously Dan wins by knockout.
Next up was Thiago Alves V George St. Pierre. No I thought this was gonna be a better fight then it was, GSP is my boy so of course I was going for him but I also like Alves, Ive been watching both of them since they first started in the UFC. I thought Alves was gonna be more of a threat to GSP, but once again GSP proves why he is the champ. He totally dominates Alves for all five round taking him down I think 18 times and ground and pounded him the whole time, it really made Alves look bad to me.
So now it was the moment everyone was waiting for, Mir V Lesnar 2. I really like Mir but come on, you kno he got lucky the first time round with that submission of Lesnar, so I had to give it to Lesnar this time round. But I didnt like the way he did it, Frank was more than willing to stand up and throw with him and I think he would of gotten the better out of the exchange, but Lesnar took him down and layed on top of him, held him down and just pounded his face. Mir makes it to round 2 and what happens, Lesnar takes him down again lays on top of him and pounds his face again, but this time Mir doesnt survive and gets KO’d. Lesnar than with his punk self gets in Mir’s face and down right talks s*** and then proceeds to flip off the crowd, jump on the mic with Joe Rogan talks bad about bud light, Mir and how he loves that everyone hates him, what a douche bag.
After the main event was Jon Fitch V somebody I dont remember, Fitch took it to decision in a rather boring fight and won.
Now this is UFC 100, wheres the rest??? The first fight was alright, second was awesome, third was cool and the fourth and fifth sucked and this is supposed to be UFC 100, the biggest event ever in UFC history, groundbreaking event for the ages?? Im sorry but this was far from a spectacular night of fights as far as the PPV showing was concerned. I know UFC has MMA in a chokehold but they should have shown more fights then they did, they have a 4 hour time slot but use like 2 and a half hours, why not show more fights?? Oh and if you dont like my opinion or review, rate my review not helpful like the other haters, see yall next @ UFC 101 & 102.

$90.00 is not worth the 5 hr programming ( including commercials )they put on Spike. For anything more than $40.00 they should show the fights in their entirety.
In addition, many of the fights seemed to highlight fighters currently being pushed by the UFC or fighters under long term contract. There were plenty of fights from the first 25 ufc events that could have been placed on the program over some of the weaker selections placed on the program.
As I stated previously, if this is the same program featured on Spike, wait for it and dvr it. $90.00 is an inflated value for this item.

Don’t listen to this guy. This show was awesome(especially live!). He clearly has no knowledge of technique, and no experience himself. Order this set. If you are an HD lover like myself, I believe this will be the first individual show on Blu-Ray.

I already have it. I won’t say how, but most of you probably already know how. None the less, here are my thoughts…for what they’re worth. Since Ama*on doesn’t delineate I will, I have the Blu-ray set and apparently, there are some differences in the extra content between the two so I can’t comment about the standard DVD set. The HD video quality is all you can expect it to be. Older fights are kept in 4:3 and look like you’d expect, old….at times ancient, and the newer (obviously 16:9) look great. People who say this isn’t great quality must not understand the process. These are live events. They’re not going to look like film or high def DV cameras using ‘film’ lenses. So disregard the complaints about the video quality.
The reason I give it 4 vs 5 stars is some of the fights included, and some of the fights omitted. As far as missing fights, first, and foremost Lesnar vs. Mir II. Which is clearly left off because the ‘UFC 100 Making History’ disc has just been released. To me, this is BS. How can this be omitted but Lesnar vs. Mir I be included? (and towards the top of the list no less.) That fight was a lot of things, but one of the greatest? No, not even close. I would have accepted it’s inclusion as a pre-text for II. But, without it, it seems pointless. I should point out that I’m not a fan of Lesnar or Mir, they both talk way too much trash and lack one of the main qualities that sets MMA apart. Respect. But I digress. A few of the fights included, just don’t measure up. For instance one fight, which is essentially a wrestling match and ends in a decision. Perhaps a great match, but not very ‘MIXED’. And there are a couple of boxing matches which would be hard to even pass off as kick-boxing. Maybe I’m being too particular, but I like seeing well rounded fights, with well rounded fighters. The bottom line is, if you love MMA you will love this set. As I mentioned there are questionable omissions an some odd choices included, but these probably only account for about 15 to 20 fights, the rest are golden. BUY IT!
