What do you get when you cross vegetables with classic Bible stories? You get courageous cucumbers, ambitious asparagus and heroes of epic proportions! VeggieTales Bible Heroes: Stand Up! Stand Tall! Stand Strong! is a 75-minute compilation featuring the following stories: – Dave and the Giant Pickle – Esther: The Girl Who Became Queen – Daniel and the Lions? Den The first of two “best of” VeggieTales programs packs together 75 minutes of the Christian-lite group into one volume. The three stories here include “Daniel and the Lion’s Den” from the first VeggieTales video, Where Is God When I’m Scared?, and complete programs of Dave and the Giant Pickle and Esther, the Girl Who Became Queen. All three tales illustrate the VeggieTales’ creed at its best: entertaining stories from the Bible with a good deal of wackiness that make the lessons go down easy–for both kids and grownups. “Daniel” showcases the remarkable variety of original music the series produces, while Dave may be the quintessential VeggieTales episode. Each segment begins with energetic youngsters discussing the themes. –Doug Thomas

While I am not a big fan of the VeggieTales, my child just loves them. I have ordered 2 of their DVD’s, this one and “God made me special”. My daughter has watched them as often as I will let her. They may be a bit silly but I would rather my child watch this then TV with all the cartoons and advertising. The stories are funny and entertaining. I plan to order more VeggieTales as my daughter cannot get enough…

Most people buying this already own or have watched the Veggie tales on an old VCR tape or DVD, but what is really interesting is how much our kids love the interludes of the other kids in the video.
It just sets them off in giggles and asking about how they could do something on TV. So I would suggest not skipping them and seeing how your kids react.
