Enjoy this incredible laugh-filled reunion that started the nostalgia craze for classic “feel good” television. Marvel over the most hilarious moments when this funny foursome couldn’t keep straight faces, and subsequently brought the house down. If laughter is your best medicine, The Carol Burnett Show: Show Stoppers is a healthy dose you’ll want to watch over and over again. If you don’t get at least a half-dozen belly laughs from this compilation of outtakes from The Carol Burnett Show, you’d better check your pulse. Originally broadcast on CBS in 2001, this affectionate retrospective reunites the peerless cast of Burnett’s variety show–Burnett, Vicki Lawrence, Tim Conway, and Harvey Korman–to answer audience questions and reminisce. The cast recalls the many times they lost composure on camera, halting sketches due to all varieties of faux pas, from faulty props (or urinating horses) to mutual crack-ups. Culled from the show’s mid-1970s heyday, the clips are infectiously hilarious, and the cast never missed an opportunity to inject a little raunchiness (later deleted) into their otherwise wholesome entertainment. Conway’s the real conspirator here, frequently turning Korman into a helpless heap of giggles, and costume designer Bob Mackie (pulled from the audience) is given fair tribute for his outlandish creativity. TV like this doesn’t exist any more, and Show Stoppers will make you wonder why. –Jeff Shannon

Three old people sit on stage and chuckle over the great times they had thirty-some years ago– pathetic. Intense obsessive fans ask question after personal question of the cast–creepy. Musical montages are compiled of dumb stuff such as Bob Mackie costumes–painfully boring. All of this fast-forward-worthy, just-change-the-channel television junk is interspersed with less than 10 minutes worth of quality skits.
I think this stinks, that Ms. Burnett is being greedy for charging so much for this teaser and for charging higher for the recently-released full-episodes set advertised on TV.

You all want to know what I find horribly sad – and I may be just as guilty on some of my ‘reviews’ – ALL you people who have reviewed this set and complained about how awful it is did not list/review WHAT Scenes/Skits/Etc. are on this set! You are all a shame to the reviewing community! When I was a child, I saw FLIP WILSON & CAROL BURNETT [or maybe it was LUCILLE BALL???] on TV doing a take off on “Gone With The Wind” with one of the two above mentioned comedienne-actresses playing “Miss Scarlet[or whatever her name was - I still haven't seen "Gone..." Though I own the Dvd! I'll get around to it, so back off!] and Flip Wilson playing the “Maid”[LOL-ala Geraldine!!!] and it was absolutely HILARIOUS! I have never forgotten the skit, though I only saw it broadcast ONCE. “Geraldine/Flip” proclaimed in the skit: “I’m FREE, [spells] ‘F-R-E, FREE!” & Miss Scarlett points out, “It’s F-R-E-E!”, to which Geraldine/Flip yells back, “I’ll spell how I want to – I’m the one that’s FREE, huneee!!!” – LOL – too funny! Does anybody recall this? I am blessed with a very sharp, often photographic-graphic, memory, that people tell me all the time it scares them! I have looked forever for this video. Is it on here???
