Dark Light
Street Fighter – Soul Powers

More thrilling adventures of Colonel William Guile, a martial arts expert who travels the global competitive fighting circuit as cover for his top secret mission-he is leader of an elite group of international crime fighters known only as Street Fighter. Their code of honor: Discipline; Justice; Commitment. Packed with fierce fighting, ample thrills and a team of genuine heroes, Street Fighter is a proven winner. Based on the video game, Street Fighter II: the Animated Movie (1994) is the first feature in the popular continuity that includes a second animated film, a TV series, an OAV, and a live-ction feature. With physiques that Mr. Olympia would envy and moves that would shame Bruce Lee, Ryu and Ken Masters rank as the world’s greatest martial artists. They face a dire challenge when Vega (Bison in the English dub), the psychic master of the criminal syndicate Shadowloo (Shadowlaw), attempts to turn the world’s top street fighters into his agents. The minimal plot exists only as a framework for the over-the-top martial arts battles. Director Gisaburo Sugii stages many of the fights at night in an effort to heighten the drama, but the results are so dark, it’s difficult to see what’s going on. Fans of the series complain–justifiably–that the English voices sound stiff and hokey, although the dialogue is hopelessly silly. The double-sided disc offers both the English and Japanese versions; the latter contains about two more minutes of violent fighting. (Rated PG-13, suitable for ages 17 and older: graphic violence, violence against women, nudity, alcohol use, profanity, ethnic stereotypes) –Charles Solomon

Finally the movie is on DVD the way it’s suppose to. This version is the fullscreen not that annoying widescreen. It’s uncut and uncensored which means it may show Chung Li’s full shower sceen which they alt too cause if they still edited it then that will disappoint adults cause it an’t like by doing such a stupid editing job on this film it can be for kids cause the movie has profanity, blood, and violence.

Character profiles is in the special features and soundtracks from the American and Japanese music.

    Sunday, August 01, 2004 / 3 of 5 / Ultimately disappointing.

An ultimately disappointing anime based on the famous Capcom franchise. Due to the volume of characters that would populate the SF2 world, the inability to give each their due is a failing. Zangief and Blanka and numerous others are given short shrift in favor of the Shotoklones. There are story arcs that die in dead ends, almost as if this was only part of a larger story. I’m told the Alpha movie is better and will investigate that. While it was neat to see the combatants rendered to screen as anime, it just didn’t measure up, joining other conversion disappointments like Toshinden, Tekken, and Night Warriors. Oh well, at least we have Mame32 to play them all.

When I bought this dvd I thought it was an anime (japanese cartoon) but it turned out to be a cartoon, and it is not related to any of the street fighter anime (street fighter vII, street fighter: alpha movie + generation and street fighter II: the movie ).

The difference between anime and cartoon is that cartoon’s have no sense physics, for example, there is a scene where one of the heroes jumps from a plane to a surfacing sub as if it is a normal jump and he feels nothing and when he trips on in the sub he feels some pain.

And in the cartoons the graphics stinks, the dubbing stinks and the story also stinks. This cartoon shows the good guys always winning and learning morals while the bad guys like the vil leader bison loose easily and look like whimps, like every common thug.

If you are a street fighter fan do not buy this dvd

PERFECT FOR KIDS BETWEEN THE AGES 6-11 OR POSSIBLY 12
