After graduating middle school, Wataru learns that due to an error with his high school exam, he can not attend the school of his choice. Returning home, he is abruptly kicked out and taken to “Promised Island” where arrangements had been made for him to attend high school. After a few mishaps (falling into the ocean, losing his apartment to a fellow student and nearly missing school registeration) Wataru unknowning meets four of his sisters (Karen, Sakuya,

Kaho and Hinaka). Once he arrives at the houuse where he would live, he is surprized as the four girls are waiting to greet their big brother. Still wanting to study in Tokyo, Wataru fantasizes about escaping the island only to have his attempts halted by Jeeves the family butler in various disguises.

In the second episode, the other eight sisters appear in groups of four (Mamoru, Haruka, Marie and Chikage. Followed by Yotsuba, Shirayuki, Rinrin and Aria).

Adding to the craziness are Yamada who arrives on the same boat as Wataru and Mami who is sent to spy on and try to convince Wataru to abandon his sisters and return to Tokyo.

As the series progresses the bonds between the siblings grows stronger. To the point where Wataru couldn’t see himself living without his sisters around.

Periodically, he (Wataru) envisions a mystery girl in a yellow sun dress and hat. Her face is never revealed and many fans speculate that she represents Karen, while others feel she represents all of the sisters. Myself, I believe the mystery to represent Sakuya given certain facts-the hair color, the age, a scene where both are crying at the same time and when Wataru is being taken to the island he dreams of the girl who asks if high school entry is really all he cares about. When he says “yes”, the mystery girl calls him “stupid” which is more like Sakuya than Karen.

Sister Princess is fun, lively and suitable for younger viewers. Though it would be best to watch with a parent.

The Amazon info you get from the site gives most of what the storyline is away but a few people I know as well as myself couldn’t bring ourselves to truly care what was happening to any of the characters. The animation is decent and for the most part the English voice actors were pretty good of course if you’re like me you also prefer the Japanese voice actors as well.

The show tries to give each character a story epic per episode as to why they are on the island and why they are there for. I again just could not feel any true emotions for any of the characters maybe because it doesn’t give more explanations on the characters themselves or just how the series was written. That being said if you like humorous,light-hearted,and a romantic story tone this would be for you if you want any thing with more depth I would advise trying another anime

Okay I love Anime and When I first saw “Sister Princess” I was thinking okay maybe this would be cute for little girls.

But too my happy suprise me being an older adult I really did enjoy this series.

    This is a great series!

Perfect if you need to take a break from all the gun, blow up, bloody, Anime series out there.

I found myself smiling at each of the characthers in their own way.

I personally love the littlest sister the best ^__^

Very cute story, ADV did a wonderful job dubbing the show and the animation was colorful and bright.

Sister Princess is one feel good Anime!

Sister Princess is a charming anime. It has great interpersonnal interactions. The characters are believable without going over-board.

The cons of Sister Princess are that it is nothing really excptional. The plot and story are not particualarly orginal.

In my opinion it is worth the money since the thin-pack is priced well and it is a good anime.
