Olivia is an all-new pre-school series from the creators of the Max & Ruby television series, based on the beloved books. The series is designed to invite preschoolers into the life–both real and fantasy–of an adventurous, can-do 6-year-old girl, her family and friends. Olivia is innately playful and imaginative. She moves in and out of fantasy and reality, imagining herself as a super hero, a pop star, or a mommy. Pre-schoolers love fun and creativity and no one embraces creativity and dramatic play like Olivia. Olivia’s world is created in CG animation, giving the show a 3-D look and feel. The series launched on Nick Jr and Noggin January 26, 2009.

I was told to get this video because it would be great for my 2y/o. She had an initial interest but has not really watched this video. I personally don’t think it’s that interesting.

We like these Olivia videos. They’re simple and charming. However, I’m giving this DVD one star in protest of the endless series of advertisements for other Nickelodeon videos that you are FORCED to sit through before you can play the Olivia videos. I’m not talking one or two advertisements… I mean, 5 minutes or more of ad after ad, every one aimed at getting your kid to ask you to buy more DVDs. But there’s no way to fast forward through the advertisements, so we have to sit through them before we can watch what we paid for.
Shame on you, Nickelodeon, for targeting my kid this way!

My 8 year old daughter just loves Olivia so this book just thrilled her to death. It is great for any fan of her show.

My 6 year old daughter started watching the T.V. show and wanted to got to the library to read the books. After reading them for about 15 times; I purchased Olivia helps with Christmas, Olivia saves the Circus, Olivia forms a Band, Dream Big starring Olivia, Olivia Opposites and finally Olivia Counts (phew!) that’s a mouth full. I would definitely recommend these books and more especially if your child loves to read oh and loves Olivia(May I remind you that she is a pig).
