Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow
  • Naruto and his team are sent on a mission to guard Yukie Fujikaze, a popular actress starring the hit movie “The Adventures of Princess Gale.” The crew is heading toward the Land of Snow, a land forever covered in snow, to shoot the final scenes of the film. When Yukie refuses to go and escapes from the set, she is brought back by force by Naruto and his teammates. But little do they know there ar

Studio: Viz Media Llc Release Date: 09/04/2007

The first feature based on the popular adventure-comedy Naruto, Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow takes knuckle-headed ninja-in-training Naruto Uzumaki to an unexpected place: a film set. With Sakura, Sasuke, and Kakashi-sensei, he must protect Yukie Fujikaze, the temperamental star of a series of period melodramas. Yukie is rude to her fans (including Naruto), throws tantrums, gets drunk, and mistreats her co-workers. But she doesn’t seem to be in any danger until the director decides to shoot her new film in the Land of Snow. In the frozen north, the ninja bodyguards discover Yukie is really Koyuki Kazehana, the long-lost princess of an icebound realm that’s been usurped by her evil uncle Doto. Naruto and his friends use exotic jutsu (and plain brute strength) to defeat Doto’s minions. The Naruto TV series takes place in a timeless Neverland, and the regular characters feel out of place in a modern setting, making jokes about movie-making. But the film plays like an extended episode of the show, with Naruto’s boy-scout-from-the-wrong-side-of-the-tracks determination and perseverance winning the day–as his fans expect. (Unrated, suitable for ages 12 and older: violence, alcohol use) –Charles Solomon

I just came back from seeing Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow, and I must say, I had a terrible time.

The movie was GREAT. The audience was terrible. In the beginning of the movie, they screamed whenever the Naruto logo came up. And it got worse from there. People were talking throughout the whole movie. It’s amazing I could hear most of the friggin movie. There were these people behind us that were like “OH! he jumped right there!” “OH! he did the [whatever] jutsu!” “oh, I knew that was going to happen!” and basically stating the obvious throughout the whole movie. And in every battle scene, the audience cheered. I couldn’t pay attention to anything except the audience, because they kept on talking and screaming.

oh, and possibly the worst part was when 10 minutes into the movie, it shut off. The people there were PISSED. They kept on screaming and whining and I think a few even cried. The people behind me were overusing the phrase “I spent 10 dollars for this?!” hundreds upon hundreds of times. I even heard one person threaten to sue the movie theater. Finally, they restarted the whole movie, which was good for me, because before that I had to stand in line to get drinks and I missed an important part to the movie.

Whoever thought of this whole “one night only” bullcrap needs to get fired. It makes it harder for fans to see the movie and crams all the hardcore Naruto fanboys into one place. That really didn’t make for a good Naruto movie experience.

Anyway, I personally loved the movie. No wonder it was such a hit in Japan. Fantastic movie. If you’re a Naruto fan, you will love this film to death.

This is the first of 3 Naruto movies that have been made so far. I have seen the Japanese version of this movie and its got an amazing storyline and amazing action. Along with some unknown ninja foes. I couldnt not see it in the theatres because there was not one near me doing it, at least not near enough for me to easily get to. I cant wait to hear the English dialogue. I certainly hope they put the other 2 movies into English because they are even better then this one. And the 3rd one even features Rock Lee. I also hope it comes with a free promo card. One can only hope.

Good movie, but can get sappy if you’ve seen Japanese Anime. My kids love it and watches all the time, sparingly of course. Got this for part of the collection. No complaints.
