I am surprised to see the quality of work put into this anime. What started out as a semi-enjoyable, yet annoying, romance, has become one of the most realistic anime I have ever seen. This DVD set features new twists and turns as Nana/Hachi, Takumi, and Nobu enter a complicated love triangle. Nana O. begins to show weakness as the world around here is becoming too stressful and emotionally taxing. When both Nanas meet again after a short while apart things take a turn for the worst and their friendship is put to the test. Being male I found myself surprised how well I could relate to the 2 female leads of this series.
The level of quality in the English dubbing, art, animation, and music also increase which leads to a near perfect release.
The main downside to this DVD set is VIZ’s steep price for a set with only a few episodes and no extras. Those interested in buying may want to look for this used or on clearance.
I can’t recommend NANA enough for all fans of realistic anime.
