Half-demon Inuyasha, modern-day schoolgirl Kagome and their companions face their deepest fears and worst nightmares as their quest to find the Sacred Jewel shards continues. The deadly Band of Seven, a group of mercenaries executed for their crimes, have returned from the dead to wreak havoc, and Inuyasha is determined to stop them. But the battle leads them all to the sacred and mysterious Mount Hakurei, where a barrier not only renders demons, including Inuyasha, powerless, but also hides a terrible secret about their worst enemy Naraku!
Bilingual (Japanese and English) with English subtitles The 5th season of Rumiko Takahashi’s “feudal fairy tale” Inu Yasha is the darkest, as the familiar characters confront questions of survival, death, and love. Naraku remains hidden, creating a new body for himself as his protective barrier was shattered at end of Season 3. Kagome, Sango, Miroku, Shippo, and Inu-Yasha spend most of these episodes battling the Band of Seven, a group of bloodthirsty mercenaries whom Naraku brought back from the dead with shards of the Sacred Jewel. More savage in death than they were in life, the seven zombies must be fought with strength and intelligence. But dangerous as they are, the Band of Seven are minor players. Naraku’s schemes force Kagome and Inu-Yasha to acknowledge their feelings for each other–and even shed tears. Using others as pawns, Naruto succeeds in his monstrous plot, turning his human heart (the heart of Onigumo, the thief who loved Kikyo decades earlier), into a malevolent infant. But there’s still plenty of time for comedy–Inu-Yasha and wolf-demon Koga squabble endlessly, and Miroku is still an unapologetic lecher. Although the shards of the Sacred Jewel play an important role, the mission to assemble them all is rarely mentioned. Presumably, that plotline will return in the two remaining seasons. The Deluxe Edition Box Set, which is limited to 15,000 copies, includes a hanging scroll of Sesshomaru.(Rated “Teen:” suitable for ages 13 and older: violence, grotesque imagery, alcohol use, brief nudity) –Charles Solomon

This season set completes my collection of these fantastic box season sets of this great show, unlike the previous season four box set this one for almost the entire set introduces us to a group of new enemies that Inu Yasha and the gang must defeat to continue with their final quest on finding and defeating the villainous Naraku. The Band Of Seven was a nice touch with the show giving us a collection of new enemies to dislike, loathe, and somewhat sympathize with throughout Inu Yasha’s ordeal, out of all the band of seven that were my most favorite were Bankotsu and Jokotsu even though Naraku had resurrected the band of seven to engage Inu Yasha and his friends we see that Naraku’s true objective is far more bigger than even Inu Yasha suspects. The fights between the band of seven against Inu Yasha, Koga, and Seeshomaru are exciting to watch and the episodes entertaining you won’t really see to much of Naraku in this season set either except near the end for about two to three episodes. One thing as well not so much on the box set but if any hardcore fans of the show or manga are interested and I’m sure some already know this but they have started making new episodes called Inu Yasha Final Act and I’m definitely hoping that if VIZ Media starts putting these episodes out for the U.S. fans that for the dubbed they can hopefully get the original cast to play their roles again. So for all Inu Yasha fans rejoice as another season set has come for you to add to your home library..

I for one don’t like a lot of anime; but only have a select few favorites… one being Inuyasha. That is because I like Inuyasha for it’s unique story and great cast of characters; not to mention the style and genre the anime fits into my personallity!
I mean they don’t call this show a fuedal fairy tale for nothing you know! That’s why I love it so much! It has lots of sword swinging action in fuedal Japan, romance between the 3 key characters Inuyasha, Kikyo, & Kagome; and a bunch of LOL comedy with the other characters! Plus this Season 5 has the ever so awesome Band of 7 characters; & my favorite out of them is their infamous leader Bankotsu! Jakotsu is just a bisexual freak; LOL!
Season 5 of Inuyasha is without a doubt my favorite seasons of all time! There are too many episodes to call my favorites; but when it all boils down to picking the best ones it’s just tough! To name a all of the best episodes/moments are: when we first meet Bankotsu & he takes his sword back from the lords castle, when Renkotsu hands over the jewl shards to Bankotsu, Miroku uses his wind tunnel in Mount Hakurai to save Sango from Kagura’s demons, Inuyasha strikes Jakotsu down, & when a frightened Renkotsu gets his shards taken from Bankotsu! But without a doubt, the episodes with the whole battle of Inuyasha & Bankotsu will forever be known as the best; & then Naraku finally appears with his new body! Naraku then finally takes Kikyo’s life; hey she saw it coming… (to all of the Kikyo haters, LOL)!
Plus I think it’s just great to have the entire Inuyasha Seasons on DVD; since you don’t have to worry about having them recorded on your old VHS tapes! That is because I’m a collector; & I love having DVD’s of all of my favorite shows & movies!

Ms. Rumiko’s series rocks, I’m a fan of her work. Oh, and Sangos a total babe.
I just wish the entire story line, had been made, where Naraku finally gets whacked.
Maybe they’ll get to finish it with original English and Japanese voice over groups.
Waiting for a sale to get last season made in series. It costs a lot. Bought this one (fortunately for me) on sale.
If you got the money to spluge tho, hey go for. It’s excellent Anime/Manga
