Full House: The Complete Sixth Season

The laughs and lessons keep on coming in the sixth season! Join the Tanners once again for another hilarious season of Full House. Watch as Danny struggles to maintain a long-distance relationship, DJ goes to Prom, Michelle learns you don’t get everything you want, Stephanie has to make an important decision and Becky and Jesse decide on pre-schools! Don’t miss the latest antics of the Tanners in the complete sixth season for the first time ever on DVD!If the first five years were about raising a family, Full House‘s sixth was about learning to let go. In season opener “Come Fly with Me,” 15-year-old D.J. (Candace Cameron) introduces her first boyfriend, Steve (new cast member Scott Weinger), to the rest of the gang (the two got together during a summer program in Spain). Danny (Bob Saget) doesn’t think she’s ready for a relationship, but maybe he’s just jealous since his long-distance love, Vicky (Gail Edwards), remains in Colorado. Meanwhile, Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen) bids goodbye to her best friend, Teddy (Tahj Mowry), when his family moves from California to Texas. While there are no marriages or births this time around, other changes are afoot. While Jesse (John Stamos), frontman for the Rippers, still struggles for recognition in the States, he becomes a star in Japan (“Road to Tokyo”). Closer to home, he joins forces with Joey (Dave Coulier). This time, instead of advertising, they collaborate on a radio show (“Radio Days”). As for Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), she helps a classmate out of a jam (“Silence Is Not Golden”). Meanwhile, toddling twins Nicky and Alex (Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit) continue to provide the cuteness factor Michelle monopolized in the early days.

Also in year six, Full House finally casts off those overused catch phrases, like “You got it, dude!” and “How rude!” (Though Jesse still exclaims “Have mercy!” on occasion.) Guest stars include Mark Linn-Baker (Perfect Strangers) as Becky’s cousin (“Trouble in Twin Town”) and MTV VJ Martha Quinn as Jesse and Joey’s boss (“Designing Mothers” and “The Dating Game”). The season ends with a Tannerino trip to Disney World in fan favorite “The House Meets the Mouse.” –Kathleen C. Fennessy

As I have stated in reviews for the previous 5 seasons. I got into this show early this decade in reruns.

Enjoyable. Not the best show ever made. Errors, plot lines from other programs & they repeated some. Actors in different episodes playing different parts.

This is, however, my favorite of the 8 seasons. Why? As a Disney fan, the 2 part The House Meets The Mouse I always enjoy watching to see Disney World & the attractions.

However, we have the SAME PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN ON OTHER DVD PACKAGES FOR THE PREVIOUS SEASONS. WHERE ARE THE EXTRAS? Again, no cast commentary. WHY CAN’T WE HEAR FROM STARS OF THE SHOW ABOUT IT, THEIR MEMORIES? ANYTHING?

And, a tacky for Warner Brothers. Putting an advertisement brochure instead THAT IS OUT OF DATE. Example, it said seasons 1 to 4 of Full House are available but season 5 would be (AND WAS) released in December 2006. TACKY, TACKY & OUTDATED.

I am so exicted this show is coming out with all seasons on DVD. For the longest time, I did not have cable and missed out on the reruns. No matter how old I get (I’m now 29), this show never gets old. What is cool with all the reruns and DVDs is now a whole new generation of families are being introduced to “how rude, you got it dude, and you’re in big trouble mister.” Oh a new Michelle-phrase I’ve discovered recently is “I’m not busy.” Haha! The only part of the show this season that bugs me is how Danny and Vicki get engaged, but then because of a contractual problem, Vicki is written out of the show in season seven. Full House should have gotten Danny married as a nice end to the show. Joey, poor Joey never married either. I would have liked to have seen DJ graduate from high school. Oh well, I still am a fan of the earlier seasons (2-4), but season six does have some great episodes to offer fans of all ages.
