I purchased this for a bedroom thinking it didn’t need to be great. It does have a great picture, but LCD still laggy for sports or fast moving images. Another annoyance is the lighted Vizio logo just under the screen is very distracting and cannot be turned off. I read some people put a piece of black tape over it, but thought I shouldn’t have to do that on such an expensive product. In the end, I couldn’t take the strain on my eyes with the lagginess and returned it. I moved my living room Panasonic plasma to the bedroom and replaced it with a new Panasonic 42″ plasma. Ahhh…so nice. For the record, refresh rate on my plasma is 600 Hz, while this one and most LCD’s are 120 Hz. Way better for sports.

I decided to go with a flat screen TV for a PC monitor to play PC games. As PC games offer far superior graphics and game play options than the PS3, Xbox or Wii…I wanted to enjoy them on a bigger screen without having to move my PC into my Home Theater.

So I picked up this and am floored by how great this is working as a monitor. I tried the HDMI connection and it was good, but then tried the RGB input and it was AMAZING.

The graphic details in PC games just pop and with the larger screen and the high rez graphics, you can see details you would miss on a smaller monitor.

I have not tried to actually watch TV on it though…so I cannot comment on the TV perfomance.

If you are a PC gamer and want some big screen experience…try this TV. Note, you should have a graphics card that can easily drive the 1080 resolution.

The picture is excellent and the sound and remote control are mediocre as others have commented. What has impressed me is the versatility of the TV. For those interested it does support PAL input, at least through regular AV inputs, so if you have a PAL VHS player it will allow you to watch those tapes. It is multi-voltage (110/240, 50/60Hz) so while it only has NTSC/ATSC tuners it can be used in other countries with existing AV equipment. The USB port while of limited use (only seems to work with some flashdrives and only for some media types) does provide power. So, if you have an iPod or Zune with an AV dock/cable you can play AV to the TV AND charge the player via the USB port.

Only had this television for a couple days but… It’s AWESOME. Perfect size for a bed, guest, or dorm room. Looks great right out of the box, w/out any tweaking. Blu-Ray looks fantastic. It’s super thin and sounds pretty good too. Recommend using HMDI cables. 120hz and 1080P make a real difference. This is a a great set for a great price. If you get one, I hope you enjoy it as much as we have so far.
