Plasma followers say what you like but this projection is it. Awesome clarity, a huge picture, HDTV and no hassle with hanging on the wall, TV stands or heavy lifts to move the darn thing. Yippie aye ay sums it up for me…and when it gets to be summer again I can take it outside on hot nights and watch a flick on the wall. Don’t tell me about bulb life until you read up on this new tech AND who says that plasmas or LCD’s don’t crater within that time frame as well.

You say tomatoe, I say tomato, you say plasmo, I say projecto!

I’m in the Navy and recently moved into a brand new civilian owned barracks out in town.. and after several months of considering buying a TV, I decided to just go ahead and get a projector, having wanted one for EVER! I ended up getting the moviemate at Best Buy because they didn’t have my first choice available anymore.. and I couldn’t have made a better choice than this one. The speakers are INCREDIBLE! I had no idea projectors could have such loud speakers! I had been dreading getting separate speakers for it, thus spending MORE money..

I simply play it on a 98 inch creme wall in the living room. I put it on a desk, the perfect height to go behind our couch, and project it from there. (Hand puppets are quite fun while waiting for loading..) There’s a window behind the couch we sit in, and with the blinds closed and the lights off, movies still look excellent during the day! We use the built in DVD player every single day, I have a PS2 connected, soon to get a Wii and XBOX 360. Only problem is, living in an “apartment” we don’t have a cable box, only the wall connections.. So TV play on it is a pain in the butt. (Ive tried several adapters, and haven’t gotten it to work… I’m sure its somehow possible..) I love the thought of playing my video games on THE WALL! I haven’t gone to a movie in quite some time.. simply because I have my OWN theater!

If you’re looking for a good Home Theater projector.. I definitely suggest this one!

This was our second MovieMate projector (Our MovieMate 30 still is going strong). We love the concept of having a built in DVD player and speakers. You don’t need anthing else. The major improvement for the 30 to the 60 is the additional inputs (HDMI and VGA). The microphone input is also unique added feature that I haven’t seen anywhere else. I love everything about this product.

I purchased this to use in my classroom a few weeks ago and have not been disappointed thus far. I love the ability to just stick a DVD in and it plays—no wires and cords strung between computers and speakers, etc. I have also used a homemade disc/slide show that won’t play on a DVD player with the TV…but played perfectly on the MovieMate. Our IT guy said it was the best picture he had ever seen from a machine so small. I have set it on the desk and projected to the opposite wall of a normal size classroom…and it fills the wall top to bottom and the picture is wonderful. This would work well in a larger or double classroom.
