So far I am pleased with this television. The only critical comments I can add are that I had a hard time connecting the cables for the audio output because of the way they are labeled on the TV. Got the video hooked up, no problem, but had no sound, period, even through the TV speakers. I usually have no problem in this department. I called Coby’s customer support after several attempts, and before they would even spend time to troubleshoot, they wanted me to unplug the TV for 30 minutes to let it re-set to factory default, even though it just came out of the box. Well, of course, I had just received a new flat-screen TV in the mail, so I didn’t have the patience and played with it for “30 minutes” and figured it out. Would have been nice if they would have just helped me out, instead of making me jump through hoops. The only other complaint that I have — and I’m not sure if it’s the TV or DirecTV, but the volume on the different channels varies considerably. There is even an option on the audio that is supposed to help with this, and I have tried it on all settings, but it doesn’t seem to help. My other TV’s in the house, including the Panasonic that was hooked up to the same box, don’t seem to have that problem. Of course, with my first experience with customer service, I have not even called — don’t want to have to unplug for 30 minutes and lose all of my settings. Guess I’ll just learn to live with it. However, it does startle my toddler sometimes and makes him cry.

I bought this TV three months ago, bought the extended warranty because I was skeptical about the price (I bought it for $299). My fears were unwarranted. Hooking my Xbox 360 and DVD player up to it was a snap. Navigating through the different input options is simple and any questions I had about setting it up were simple to solve using the instruction booklet. The only problem I had with it was being able to access the channel set up. When I first set up the channels it worked great, but a few days later my antenna wasn’t working properly and I needed to adjust it but the I couldn’t access that menu. After messing around with the controls I finally worked it out; it wouldn’t have been so frustrating if there were tips in the booklet. Over all it works fabulously and is a great value for the money. I’m purchasing a second one for my bedroom.
