With the previous lamp I had for my Epson projector, we frequently had to turn off the lights to be able to view much with it. When it konked out, we looked all over the net and this was the best price we found. When we got it, I installed it and I could immediately tell that it was brighter. I can leave the lights on now during normal TV viewing.
