These are nice looking speakers and perform adequately.

The satellite speakers look great and take up very little space.

The control is cheaply made. Knobs are not marked so you have no idea what the sub or main volumes are set at. Cables are easy, but have proprietary connections and are hardwired into the satellites. Not a deal breaker, but a serious annoyance.

Sound wise, anyone with a great ear will see that the low mids suffer and there is a slight disconnect between the satellites and sub. The sub is solid and has enough oomph.

These may be goign back to the site I bought them from and will be replaced by a Logitech Z-4 set.

background info for me… I am just a college student who likes to listen to hip hop rap and watch movies..

The HP 50 Watt 2.1 speaker system is a great small speaker system.. I say small because the speakers are no bigger than my whole hand and the sub is decently small for the power it puts out.

My Roommate has the Z4 from logitech and I would have to say that power and quality wise it is equal. My Sub made have a few more watts but they both sound good and bump loud. I do like my speakers because they are smaller than his and are a little bit louder. The only downfall for the HP 50 watt 2.1 speaker system is that the hand control is not as good looking as the Z4 from Logitech. It is not up to the same quality and modern look you would like to see.

Besides that downfall this speaker system is great to have… and it kicks loud. Get a bass song and you will hear it and feel it when you turn it up…. I like this product and glad that I bought it.

    Besides the hand control

OK, I’m not much for a person when it comes to writing things about products, this is probably my first and only one that I will ever write. Ok after reading reviews about how good and crappy these speakers are I firgured I’d buy them and give them a shot.

Yeah, I’ll agree these speakers sound ok alone and you don’t get very much from them BUT….. THESE SPEAKERS KICK LIKE HELL WHEN YOU ADD DFX AUDIO ENCHANCER TO YOUR WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER OR WHATEVER YOU USE BUT ITUNES.

These speakers do not carry a good oomph until you add this software, yeah it may be $40 but it’s totally worth it if you want to kick these things up to 100 Watts. This is coming from a guy who looks for good sound qaulity and not just straight bass which is retarded. I prefer hearing all sounds rather then it being drowned out by bass. I promise if you get these speakers and the software, which is available online to purchase and download, you will not be disappointed. These speakers perform so much better with the software AND you do not need the volume up but half way. Trust me I love these speakers so much! Oh and I just got these like 3 days ago ever since then I have not stopped listening to my music and I’ve hardly been watching tv I’m soo impressed!!! :)

That’s pretty much all I got to say!

I bought these speakers as a replacement for some weak 2.1 cyber acoustics.. I already have a HP laptop, so I said what the hell, why not try these HP speakers to go along with it. I was pretty much sold from the reviews on HP’s website. So I went ahead and bought them for about $50.00 with free shipping from another site. When they arrived I 1st hooked them up to my mp3 player to see how loud they were compared to the acoustics and wow it was loud. Even louder with my laptop. I listen to pretty much every genre of music and these boys perform well for each one. The clear sound they put out along with the thumping bass is truly exceptional. The size of the satellite speakers are just right. The length of the cords are pretty generous. Most people had problems with the remote and I can see why if you use the lil’ thing on a all the time. I only use it to change the level of bass. I just turn the volume knob all the way up on the remote and control the volume from my laptop or my laptops wireless remote. So the knob isn’t too much of a bother, for me at at least. So for this customer there are no cons. Listening to these speakers as I write this review I’m so glad I made this purchase. I would definitely recommend this product to someone who is looking for some nice speakers, with great sound, for under $100.
