Delphi Roady XT Home Kit ( SA10176 )

  • For use with the Roady XT receiver.

Complete kit for the home environment includes home antenna, power adaptor, audio patch cables, receiver stand, and remote control. The Delphi Roady XT Home Kit allows you to play the Delphi Roady XT Receiver through your home audio system. It includes a home docking station, remote control, AC power adapter, indoor/outdoor antenna, and an audio patch cable. The high-gain antenna gives you interior or exterior mounting options, and features a hinged base for flexible positioning. The antenna can be placed on any horizontal surface or mounted vertically to a wall. Delphi and XM radio recommend that the antenna be positioned near a south-facing window or outdoors with a clear view of the southeastern sky to receive the satellite signal.

The included remote control is compact and contains a numeric keypad and a variety of buttons that make it easy to navigate XM radio from the comfort of your couch. The docking station is simple with a proprietary XT Roady interface, power input, antenna signal input, and audio output. Power is supplied via a round, five-volt DC connector for connecting the AC adapter; a single SMB connector is used to connect the XM antenna; and the 3.5-millimeter mini-jack supplies a stereo audio output.

Note: An XM satellite radio subscription (sold separately) is required to listen to XM satellite programming.

It was very easy to install and use. I have it set up with my home stereo but I can hook it into a boom box or any FM radio. The best part is having the ability to move it from car (Ihave a car kit) to home easily and you don’t need two accounts.

The home kit has everything you need to use your Roady XT in — you guessed it — your home! Now you can pump all of XM’s music through your home stereo.

The base is actually fairly heavy for it’s size, which is good – you can actually press the buttons on the unit without pushing it off of whatever you have it on.

The remote is great… I usually take it in the car so that I can switch stations without taking my hand off the gear shift ;-) Also it makes it easier to give control of the radio over to a passenger, even if they are in the backseat.

I was stringing the antenna/cable up to the attic and set it down on the central AC unit. I went back downstairs to get a few more tools so I could finish off the antenna installation. My plan was to drill a hole through an attic wall that would give me access to the southwest sky. Before going back up in the attic I stopped and plugged the cable into the unit. I had FULL strength reception and the antenna was just lying in the attic without any windows. I went upstairs, attached the antenna to the nearest stud and haven’t looked back. In south Louisiana, when the thunderstorms builtup, we used to lose TV satellite on a regular basis. We have gone to cable after losing TV signal 100′s of times. But our Roady with its antenna in the attic hasn’t lost signal once.

I purchased the Delphi Roady Car Kit from a website that had it at a crazy price…$5.99 !! With a 3 month family package at $20.00 a month. Total cost with shipping and handling…$51.53. I searched for the Home Kit in the stores in my area, but with no luck. Then I though…AMAZON !!! Total cost with shipping and handling…$28 and some change. Hooked the home kit to my stero, wait for the radio to update, about 1 hour, and I was then in business. Now, I want to be able to record from the player to an another device, on a timer fro when I am out of the house. I’m an electronic freak, so I give this hardware a 10 !! Set up was easy, learning the hardware’s function was easy also.
