The Bose® CineMate® GS II speaker system is the easiest way to enjoy Bose 2.1-channel home theater performance and bring out the full audio potential of your HDTV. Proprietary TrueSpace® technology enables two Gemstone® speakers and an Acoustimass® module to deliver compelling sound for movies, games, sports and more. The system easily connects directly to your TV, avoiding the need to disconnect other sources. And with no rear speakers, there’s no wiring to the back of your room. A programmable universal remote control simplifies operation of other connected sources.
A sound upgrade for your home theater needs
The CineMate GS II system represents a quality home theater upgrade to complement your HDTV. Two powerful Gemstone speakers flank your TV and put you in the middle of dramatic home theater sound. You’ll experience a level of realism that simply cannot be matched by TV speakers alone.

These are the perfect addition to my HD TV. The controller can easily be set to control everything. Big sound.

I’ve been a Bose fan over the years, having owned the Bose 901′s, 501′s, Accoustomass 5 Series II system, and most recently, the Bose noise cancelling headphones – all speakers and the headphones met or exceeded my expectations. However, the Bose GS series II system has been an immense disappointment. The quality of sound is mediocre, and I would have returned the system had I purchased directly from Bose and not from Amazon. With the exception of a bit more bass, there is no noticeable difference from the Bose GS Series II speakers to the sound produced from my Sony 46inch XBR TV speakers. Sorry Bose – I’d like to endorse this product but cannot do so. I’d recommend consumers save the $799 for the GS series II and look for other options.

I am not usually huge Bose fan, decided to try the Cinemate 2.1. Simple to connect to TV/AT&T cable box. I actually also connect earphone jack to RCA cable to my iPhone to listen to music, actually sounds quite good. Overall the Cinemate works rather well. Read and follow the setup documentation to get the best sound.

Very simple to set up. I have this system connected to a 52 inch Samsung HDTV. You won’t notice a great deal of difference watching TV but this system shines when playing music from my Itunes collection and watching Blu-Ray movies. The difference here is dramatic. I wanted a small form factor without buying a digital receiver and running wires all over the room. The GS fits the bill. It’s too expensive but I’m happy with the results.

If you are looking for a full blown home theater system then it will not fit the deal.Sound quality is good, but it only works as an amplifier for your original tv speakers.
the surround sound is not great, but works fine for a small room.
In short not even close to a home theater system, but just a set of good speakers.
