This DVD player is incredibly light(as light as lifting a box of cereal). It is not the best looking and most stylish DVD player out there;but it has a nice black color and it meshes well with my black entertainment center. The player is easy to install though I had no luck yet getting it to work with my cable box. It plays my DVD-R recordable disks without any problems. Comes with remote, AA batteries, video out cable, and sound output cables. Ideal product for what I needed.

I read a bunch of reviews on different dvd players. No matter which price range, it seemed like something could go wrong. So why not spend the least amount? For $40, this isn’t a bad little machine at all…it doesn’t have any fancy shmancy features, but it plays everything I put into it with no problems. I just hope it lasts

And this DVD player, unfortunately for us, provides a reason why that saying exists. Like another reviewer, after about 3-4 months of light use, the player no longer consistently recognized DVDs. The local service center suggested just buying a new player, as the cost to repair would exceed the original price.
The feature set and usability were good, it just broke down and wasn’t worth the money paid. We’ll go with one of the mainstream brands next time. . .costs a little more, but worth it!!

After several months, this player no longer would recognize CDs or DVDs. The manufacturer suggested rebooting. That did nothing. The service center they recommended in my area said to would probably cost more to fix than to buy a new one.

I knew Funai is a reputable company. I just trusted the good name and bought it last week. Me and my wife both are very satisfied with the quality of picture and performance. Remote is easy to use. Since my TV has only a coaxial cable input, I had to buy an RF modulator(Philips) from Walmart at $18. So I paid a total of $58.
