In particular support for the true lossless Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio formats provides unprecedented audio fidelity from Blu-ray discs.
It’s lightening fast!
For complete user convenience, the 650BD boasts power-up and loading speeds which are amongst the most impressive of any Blu-ray player currently available. And naturally, the widest possible array of HDMI, digital and analogue outputs are fitted for connection to screens and home cinema receivers of all types.
A fresh new look

My Denon 2910 player had an untimely and rather painful death. The guy at the audio shop said they were getting some of the Cambridge Universal players in and it would do every format including SACD and Blu-ray. “Sure”, said I, “I’ll give it a rip” and I’m very glad I did. This player does everything well and it does it quickly to boot.
The upconversion from standard DVDs to 1080p is the best I’ve seen. I will not be replacing my DVDs with Blu-ray disks – why would I when they look this good? It does a phenomenal job with Blu-rays and my Super Audio disks sound cleaner and clearer than they ever had before.
This unit was a few bucks more than the competition but in this case I truly got what I paid for and a bit more.

I recently purchased the Azur 650BD as a replacement of my second generation Pioneer Elite Blu-ray player. My home theater system consists of 7.1 channels of Klipsch speakers, Panasonic 1080p 4000 projector, Onkyo 5007 receiver and a home theater PC. The 650BD does not live up to its hype. Starting from a clunky disc tray and a low resolution front panel display, the 650BD starts off with an unfavorable first impression.
The 650BD picture quality is quite poor compared to the latest much lower priced Blu-ray players. Night scenes are rendered with a lot of grain and the picture has a low contrast. The color gamma settings give skin tones a yellowish cast and the video seems to lack the focused sharpness that is the hallmark of Blu-ray.
The remote control is impossible to use in a dimmed room since it is not lighted. The remote sensor on the player works only when the remote is pointed directly towards the player.
I would not recommend this player to any video buff because its video quality falls short of minimally acceptable standard.

Plays about anything you put into it. Remote has a nice layout and functionality but lacks back lighting which is a negative, about the only negative I can find. Very quick load time. Easy setup and lots of flexibility for audio and video output. Love this unit.
