Daniel Tosh, comedy’s chosen one, has been healing the sick, stopping wars, helping underprivileged children… not to mention filming COMPLETELY SERIOUS, the single greatest hour in comedy. What have you been doing? Tosh has appeared multiple times on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the Late Show with David Letterman, and his debut CD, True Stories I Made Up, is close to reaching ten million copies sold (That’s Diamond!!). The torch has been passed and stand-up’s newest superstar will try not to drop it.

Daniel Tosh is hilarious, but if you are looking at this you probably already know that, as I think his current level of popularity dictates that no one could find his DVD on accident/through recomendations etc.
It has been said a couple of times already, but this DVD re-hashes a lot of the cd material, only with rushed deliveries (it killed me the way he altered the down feather bit on the DVD), and so to an extent you can make the case that the cd is the way to go.
But the extras on the DVD, while not large in quantity, are AMAZING. From self depricating cracks during a photo shoot, to a little Q&A with some fans (watching these people try to be funny for him is a riot in itself), and then finally topped by an ingenious rip on Dane Cook.
But while the extras are great, they also represent my biggest regret about the DVD. I own his CD, I watched the special (which was an editted, cut down version of this show) premier. While I enjoy the new material, hearing the F word etc. after seeing the outtakes it is apparent that a lot was left on the cutting room floor. Maybe this is an unreasonable request (or just that of a psycho fan), but why? I loved watching him bust on audience members, camera men, the staff of the club etc. I can understand why you don’t want that part of it on Comedy Central, but why not include the whole show, completely uncut, on the DVD?
Oh well. This DVD is a good buy just because the best stuff in the show didn’t make it onto the Comedy Central cut (the whole bit about New Orleans for instance), and for the aforementioned reasons. Yeah, it could have been better, but I am still happy to own it.

I’ve seen Daniel Tosh on Comedy Central presents, bought his album, then saw him live in Chicago in April. There’s still LOADS of material on this special that I hadn’t heard yet. After everything, he still has me laughing off my chair.

Funny is not the word for this DVD. Hilarious is more like it. Do yourself a favor and buy this for everyone you know. Smart, funny, original, and ruthless.

Daniel Tosh is one of the most hilarious and underrated comedians in the past few years, not to mention pretty dang adorable.
This hour long video will have you laughing til it hurts and then a little bit more. It covers a lot of his older material and some of the classics! Of course, perhaps not for everyone, (“Is this a comedy club? I hope there will be jokes and sarcasm!”) but for the witty and intellectual it is a sure crack-up.
Repeat viewings only make it better and better, his expression and demeanor carry his jokes onto a whole different level. Pure genius!
“Sometimes, when I’m feeling down because nothing seems to be going right, I like to take a home pregnancy test. Then I can say, ‘Hey, at least I’m not pregnant.”
If you’ve ever seen him live as I have, you know this guy is a non-stop riot and he’s got lots more from where this came from!
Think: Dane Cook meets Jim Gaffigan, they have a baby, and the baby reads. Thank you Daniel Tosh!

One of the major drawbacks in purchasing recordings of comedy performances is the durability of the material to make it worthwhile coming back to watch again and again. Now after numerous viewings of the ’07 DVD `Daniel Tosh: Completely Serious’ I must say that it continues to delight and entertain. Is it his contagious boyish grin, expressive facial features or relentless comedic routines that bring me back again and again?
I’m certain it’s all the above plus his nothing sacred, everything fair game attitude which is cleverly balanced by his naïve unassuming demeanor, faux sincerity and Orange County good looks. It takes nothing more than a well placed cheshire grin to persuade his audience to forgive his politically/socially incorrect forays into; race, religion, God, death, plastic surgery and dwarfish.
This one is funny from beginning to end and great to have at your fingertips whenever you’re in need of a good laugh!
